The King’s University College Board of Directors has appointed a new Chair and Vice Chair, effective July 1, 2023. Dr. Nonie Brennan, the former Vice-Chair, takes on the role of the Chair of the Board, succeeding Kapil Lakhotia, BA ’02 (Economics), while Kenneth Deane assumes the role of Vice-Chair. Both have been appointed for one-year terms.

Dr. Brennan holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, an M.S. in Public Service from DePaul University in Chicago and a B.A. in English and History from King’s. She received the Alumni of Distinction Award from King’s in 2015, and an Honorary Doctor of Laws from Western University in 2017.

“I feel very proud to step into the role of Chair. I’m passionate about the value of a good liberal arts education and the importance of the role social justice plays in our lives and our communities. These are two values that Kings excels at,” says Dr. Brennan.

Deane is a retired health care executive who held senior leadership positions in a number of hospitals including academic health sciences centres and community hospitals in London and southwestern Ontario. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, York University. He currently also serves on the finance committee for the Diocese of London.
