Title: PhD Candidate, Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant

Career Overview

In my doctoral work, I am examining political participation and deliberative democracy, with a focus on Canada. I recently completed my comprehensive exams and now will move on to putting together a dissertation proposal and planning my research process. As a teaching assistant, I am responsible for creating weekly activities for my assigned course (Introduction to Electoral Systems) and also for providing guidance and feedback to undergraduate students. My work as a research assistant is varied and also quite interesting. This week, I am responsible for reading the fascinating memoirs of a Professor Emeritus in my department as we plan for an upcoming event in his honour. Last week, I learned about licensing and copyright laws in Canada. I enjoy the opportunity to pursue a number of different projects on topics that are of great interest to me.
