Maija Wilson

Maija Wilson is a King’s Alumni. She graduated with an Honour Specialization in Social Justice and Peace Studies and a Minor in Religious Studies. She feels blessed to work in the department of campus ministry alongside a great team. Maija is a proud mother of three little ones who keep her and her partner very busy. Naturally she enjoys working with children and families in her role as a campus minister to youth.

She believes there is a great importance in the words Jesus taught when He said, “ You shall love your neighbour as yourself’ (Matthew 22:39).

Currently, Maija is honoured to be the coordinator of London Interfaith Peace Camp (LIPC) . Rooted in the three Abrahamic faiths: Judaism, Christianity and Islam, this is a week long day camp offered to students in grades 1 through 8. Campers counsellors  have an opportunity to learn  enduring  lessons about each of these faiths, visiting local places of worship and engaging in different crafts and activities.

Maija’s has facilitated numerous retreats and workshops for young people, with a strong focus on celebrating the gifts and talents of each person.

Presently, Maija is finishing a Masters of Divinity. This will assist her as she co-ordinates children and family opportunities at Christ the King Parish and prepares families for the initiation sacraments.

It is Maija's hope to constantly learn and build relationships with those around her, creating a place where people feel welcomed.
