King’s is hosting a variety of Homecoming events from September 23-26, 2021. As the health and safety of our community remains our top priority, events will be held virtually. In-person events will be announced closer to Homecoming weekend, if permitted. Check back often for updates to the Homecoming schedule of events!

From traditional events like the Friday reunion featuring the musical talents of Rick McGhie to new events like the Virtual Cooking Class with Growing Chefs! Ontario, there’s certainly something for everyone. Reconnect and reminisce about your time at King’s with your former classmates and faculty, all from the comfort of home.

New this year: Rick McGhie is taking requests! Submit your song requests through the online form or by emailing the name and artist of your favourite tunes to alumni@kings.uwo.ca.

Schedule of Events

4:00 PM - Alumni Association AGM
Join in on Zoom to hear about what your Alumni Association did last year, and get a sneak peak at plans for 2021/22. Registration is required for this event.

5:30 PM - Virtual Cooking Class with Growing Chefs! Ontario
Let Executive Chef, Katherine Jones of local registered charity, Growing Chefs! Ontario, professionally guide you through a virtual cooking class: Modern Italian Classics. Through preparing the menu of Antipasto Salad and Risotto Carbonara, the class will teach participants lifelong cooking skills that they will use to make modern interpretations of classic Italian dishes. Your $10 registration fee: includes full recipe print-outs, complete shopping list, and virtually-guided Chef instruction. All are invited to participate in the class. Registration is required.

Available Add On: Recipe Kits are available for purchase to make cooking along even easier. Each Recipe Kit serves 2 people, and includes ingredients that are prepped and ready for you to cook along in real-time. Kits are $30 +HST and must be picked up at Growing Chefs Headquarters, 900 King Street, London, on Wednesday, September 22 between 3:00-6:00 pm. 11:00 AM - Life After King’s - Alumni Athletes
A star-studded line-up of former Mustang athletes will speak about their experiences since graduating from King's. This year’s panel includes an NHL Executive, professional athletes, and more! Registration is required.

6:30 PM - Alumni Awards Ceremony
Raise a glass with us as we celebrate Nancy Sutherland ’85, and Joe MacDonald ’80, recipients of the Alumni Award of Distinction, and Monica Ciriello ’09, Recent Graduate Award Recipient.

8:00 PM - Friday Night Livestream with Rick McGhie
It wouldn’t be Homecoming without the legendary Rick McGhie. This year, Rick is taking requests! Submit your song requests online and tune into the livestream to hear your King's school days soundtrack.

8:30 AM - Homecoming Fun 5K
Do not wait to register! Lace up your favourite kicks and join us for a run/walk/cycle. Registration is $25 and includes a sweat-wicking Homecoming T-shirt (sizes available on a first come-first served basis). Share your journey on social using hashtag #KingsHoco5K

10:00 AM - King's Faculty Fireside Chat
Join Professors Alison Meek, Felipe Rodrigues, and Eunice Gorman for a casual conversation on topics related to COVID-19, including conspiracy theories, predictive modelling, and emotional challenges faced during the global pandemic. Please note: This event will not be recorded. Registration is required.

Faculty Reunions - School of MEM, Social Justice & Peace, and Disability Studies
Spend some time with former professors and friends at a faculty-based virtual gathering. Find out what other graduates from your program are doing, and what's new in your program at King's. Students and alumni welcome.
