Disability Studies Program

My experience in the Disability Studies program at King's continues to influence my personal and professional perspective in many ways. As the first point of contact with the public in my role as a Communications Operator, I interact with people from many different communities. The Disability Studies program contributed to my understanding and empathy for the diverse needs and experiences of others, which I am able to apply every day as I provide emergency and other assistance for my callers.

Disability Studies has opened many doors for me in terms of applying the theories and learning in every aspect of my life. I have found that it allows me to connect on a much deeper level with others. I couldn't be more thankful for the engaging and informative instruction by all of the wonderful professors in the program; it has proven to be extremely invaluable and I'm beyond grateful.
