Enrolment is through Spring adjudication only.

The Honours Specialization (HSP) in Psychology is a limited-enrolment program. Some years, there are more applicants to the program than spaces available. As a result, we are not always able to offer admission to all students who meet the minimum admission requirements.

Normally, admission to the HSP program requires the completion of first-year requirements with no failures and a minimum average of 75% on three principal courses including Psychology 1000 (or 1000X), Math 1228A/B, Stats 1024A/B, and an additional 1.0 course at the 1000-level with no grade below 60%.

We anticipate that there will be more students who apply to this program than we can accept into the program.

Should this be the case, a grade of PASS in the courses required for admission to the HSP will not be sufficient, and admission will be based on numeric grades in Psychology 1000 (or 1000X), Math 1228A/B, Stats 1024A/B.

Applicants should be aware that the HSP involves upper-year courses that build on the foundations provided in Math 1228A/B and Stats 1024A/B. A solid understanding of the concepts from these courses is essential for student success in the HSP.

A passing grade will be considered acceptable for admission to a Major, Specialization or Minor in Psychology.

Enrolment in this module is limited. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee that students wishing to transfer into this module will be offered admission.
