Title: Emergency Supply Teacher

Career Overview

At the London District Catholic School Board (LDCSB), my role allows me to fill vacancies on an as-needed basis in Grades K-12. I work with principals and other staff members to ensure that students are taken care of while their teachers are away.

I am also a Junior/ Intermediate B.Ed. Candidate at Westerns Faculty of Education, with an expected graduation date of spring 2021. Once I complete my Bachelor of Education program, I hope to work in an elementary school, providing 1:1 supports for students with disabilities.

Disability Studies Program

The Disability Studies Program at King's has helped me grow my passion and knowledge of Disability and Special Education. Throughout the four years that I was at King's, I learned so much about disability, barriers, supports, and programs that exist to help people with disabilities. As I head into the field of Special Education, I know that my Disability Studies has provided me with a unique perspective, which will help me to become a better teacher for students with disabilities. The knowledge I gained was immeasurable, and I will always be so thankful for my professors who have helped guide me into a fruitful career in special education.
