Graduating students from King’s School of Social Work enjoyed a hard-earned celebration at West Haven Golf & Country Club on April 12th.  The Class of 2013 was congratulated by Sauro Camiletti, Academic Dean, Dermot Hurley, Interim Director of the School of Social Work and Mary Carol Watters, Dean of Students, along with several faculty members.

Camiletti praised the graduates for “choosing a noble profession” and “developing critical thinking skills and the ability to help people with challenges.”  He encouraged the students to “be enthusiastic, committed and to ask questions” as they entered their careers in a sector with high demand for skilled professionals.

The graduates enjoyed a photo montage and all received gifts and their professional pin.  The event was organized by a group of their classmates including Donna Barrett who told her classmates that she was “hopeful we will all bring compassion, empathy and wisdom to our future practices.”

Dermot Hurley congratulated the students for their “insane hard work.”  He told them they can now “go do what you do best which is to look after people.”

Congratulations to the newest Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) Program graduates.  They will officially receive their degrees on June 11th.
