Use Draft My Schedule to help you build an individual conflict-free class schedule.

Log into Student Center or Draft My Schedule.

Note: This tool does not import your course selections into your Student Center.  It allows you to create and play with your preferred timetable in order to prepare for course registration in Student Center.

Refer to the Western Academic Calendar for academic information, such as module/program requirements and course descriptions.

Things to consider:

  • Module/Program requirements such as admission, course, and progression requirements. Follow the requirements from the academic year that you started the module/program. View Previous Western Calendars
  • Course requirements such as prerequisites and antirequisites.
Pay attention to the order of when you take courses.
Keep track of antirequisites so you do not risk losing credit for a course.

For example:

Antireq information

  • Review Your Grade Report:
Log in to Student Center. Go to Academics > Program Status > Grade Report - Progresssion.
Note any progression or degree requirements that need to be completed.
  • Access to Courses: There may be extra enrollment conditions that restrict or delay your access to register in courses. Review the Extra Enrollment Constraints section below for more details.

.
For students in Year 2, 3, or 4, course registration for Fall/Winter usually begins in July. Course registration for Year 1 students usually begins in June (refer to the New Students section for details).

To register in courses, you need an enrollment appointment. You can view your enrollment appointment in Student Center. Go to Academics > Course Registration > Enrollment Appointments.

Approximately 2 to 3 days before your enrollment start date, an email will be sent to your Western email account about your enrollment appointment time.

Course registration occurs over three enrollment periods for the Fall/Winter session. While you may register in courses in all three periods, the enrollment conditions for courses may differ in each period.

  1. Priority Enrollment Period
  2. Adjustment Enrollment Period
  3. General Enrollment Period

Fall/Winter 2025-2026

Priority Enrollment Period: July 7 to July 29 (11:59 p.m. EST)
Access to course registration during the priority enrollment period begins with your enrollment appointment. Enrollment appointments are determined by your academic level/year of study and are assigned in the following order: Year 4 students, Year 3 students, Year 2 students.

Enrollment appointments will be assigned within these date ranges for the Fall/Winter 2025-2026 registration period:

Year 4: July 7 to July 11
Year 3: July 14 to July 18
Year 2: July 21 to July 25

Check your Western email account for your specific enrollment appointment time.

Your enrollment appointment time is the earliest date and time you can access course registration. Until this date/time is reached, you will not be able to register in courses in Student Center.

After your enrollment appointment begins, you can continue to register in courses until the end of the Fall/Winter course registration period (last day to add a course).

Exception: While your enrollment appointment is valid until the last day to add, your access to course registration will be temporarily suspended when course adjustments occur. See “Adjustment Enrollment Period” section for further information.

During the priority enrollment period students should try to register in a full course-load. Some enrollment constraints, such as priority constraints will be in effect during the priority enrollment period.

Adjustment Enrollment Period: July 30 to August 6
After the priority enrollment period, enrollment conditions (i.e. priority constraint) will change to allow more students access to select courses. You can review when a priority constraint will expire by referring to the course registration notes.

Access to course registration will be temporarily suspended at the beginning and end of the adjustment enrollment period while these enrollment conditions are adjusted. You will not need a new enrollment appointment when access to course registration resumes.

July 30: No Access to Course Registration (as of midnight 12:00 a.m. EST)

  • Some priority conditions will expire
  • Some priorities will change to allow new enrollment conditions for the course
  • Enrollment from wait lists

July 31 to August 5 (11:59 p.m. EST): Access to Course Registration

  • Check your email regularly for a notification that you have been enrolled from a wait list
  • Review your schedule and any enrollment from a wait list
  • Make adjustments to your class schedule

Note: You will not need a new enrollment appointment when access to course registration resumes.

August 6: No Access to Course Registration (as of midnight 12:00 a.m. EST)

  • Additional priorities will expire or change to allow new enrollment conditions for the course
  • Enrollment from wait lists.
General Enrollment Period

August 7: Access to Course Registration Resumes

  • Special permissions to enroll in a course overload or unbalanced course load come into effect
  • Check your email regularly for a notification that you have been enrolled from a wait list
  • Review your schedule and any enrollment from a wait list
  • Make adjustments to your schedule. Continue to modify your course selections until the end of the Fall/Winter course registration period (last day to add a course)
Reminder: Courses with a restriction constraint remain in effect through the duration of the course registration period.

For important academic dates, including add and drop deadlines, refer to the Sessional Dates in the Western Academic Calendar.

If you need to drop a course after the last day to withdraw, you can use a course change form. Consult your Faculty Academic Counselling Office for more information.

A few reminders about enrollment actions and drop deadlines:

  • When using the swap option in Student Center the course drop/withdrawal deadlines will apply to the course you select to drop.

  • Wait lists will continue to be processed up until the end of the course registration period (last day to add a course). Remove yourself from a course wait list if you no longer wish to be automatically enrolled into the course or if you no longer wish to be automatically dropped from a course that was indicated in your swap to wait list request. If you used swap to join a wait list for a Winter course and indicated a Fall/Winter or Fall course to drop then you will be automatically dropped from the Fall/Winter or Fall course if you are eligible to enroll from the wait list for the Winter course. This drop may result in a course withdrawal (WDN) for the Fall/Winter or Fall course. By dropping yourself from the wait list for the Winter course, you will be cancelling the swap to wait list details. Once the swap to wait list has been cancelled, you can join the wait list for the Winter course again.
