Residency Requirements for King’s students during the fall/winter term:

  • For full-time students no more than 40% of your courses may be taken at campuses outside of King’s.

Example: If you are taking 5.0 courses, 2.0 of those may be taken at another campus.

  • For part-time students at least half of your courses must be taken at King’s.
  • If a course is offered at King’s, it cannot be taken at another campus.

Modular Residency Requirements for King’s modules:

Students must complete the majority of the courses for their King’s module through King’s. Individual departments may have additional requirements noted on their program checklist.

For example, if your Major module requires 6.0 credits, at least 3.5 on those must be taken through King’s.

Degree Residency Requirements:

Of the 20.0 required courses used to fulfil graduation requirements, a minimum of 15.0 courses must be completed through Western University or one of the Affiliated University Colleges. A maximum of 5.0 courses may be taken at another university on a Letter of Permission or on Exchange.
 
Exception: Students who are admitted to King’s with transfer credits, and those who are admitted with advanced standing must complete a minimum of 10.0 courses including at least 5.0 senior courses (numbered 2000 - 4999) through Western University or one of the Affiliated University Colleges. In the case of transfer students, courses taken on Letter of Permission or Exchange are not to be counted as part of the necessary 10.0 courses taken at Western.

For graduation requirements, a minimum of 5.0 credits must be completed through King’s University College while also meeting modular residency requirements.
