The Darryl J. King Student Life Centre is a vital part of the King’s physical community. However, with King’s becoming a largely virtual campus, there will also be a virtual Student Life Centre for students, staff, and faculty to take advantage of.

The Virtual Student Life Centre, which was launched August 17, 2020, will be located at www.kings.uwo.ca/virtual-slc/.  Because most events will be held virtually or in small blended groups this year, this new version of the Student Life Centre will allow students and other members of the King’s community to take part in online gatherings such as the monthly Ask Dean Joe events, Virtual O-Week and participate in online events, such as the Veritas Lectures or Research Seminar series. A Virtual Event calendar of interest to students is located on the site.

The King’s community will also be able to book a special virtual event and meet with peers in the new online meeting room, The KUCSC and all information about all student run clubs. There will also be access to resources such as The Write PlaceHealth and Wellness groups, and you will even be able to take part in online Yoga classes and purchase King’s swag at the new King’s Connection online store which is operated by the KUCSC.

Because King’s values the importance of community, we will continue to provide a variety of programs to connect students with others who can assist them in their journey at King’s, including the King’s Academic Mentors Program (KAMP), International Peer Guides and Residence Assistants.

“The Virtual Student Life Centre aims to some extent mirror what takes place in the physical student life centre on campus. Whether a King's community member is in another country or around the corner they can engage with King's and vibrant experience we provide, just in a different way,” says Joe Henry, Dean of Students.
