Borrowing

The Cardinal Carter Library participates in the Canadian University Reciprocal Borrowing Agreement (CURBA).  CURBA is a resource sharing program which enables Canadian university students, faculty and staff to borrow regular loan items directly from participating institutions.

To apply for borrowing privileges print and complete the Direct Borrower Application Form.  Present the form, along with a valid university ID from a participating CURBA institution at the library service desk. Once verified, a library card and account will be created.

Direct borrowers are permitted to borrow unlimited regular loan items from the Cardinal Carter Library, Western Libraries, any Affiliate University College Library, and St. Peter’s Seminary.  Items are signed out for 28 days and have unlimited renewals.  Short-term loan items are not available as they are reserved to support the University’s teaching or research.  Direct borrowers are not permitted extended loans, and can not recall items on loan or use of the Interlibrary Loan Services.

Library material may be returned to the Cardinal Carter Library, any Affiliate University College Library, any Western Libraries location, or to a library participating in CURBA.
