Teams Notification Setup

(Please ensure that you read what the setting does before turning it on or off.)

1. In Microsoft Teams, click Settings and More (three dots in the top right).
2. Select Settings → Notifications and activity.
3. Under Sound, Toggle Play sound for notifications ON if you want to play sounds with the notifications.
4. Under Chats and Channels:

   • To view @mentions while in a chat or channel, select Mentions  or Tag mentions (  above your list of chat or channel conversations).

   • For Desktop—aka “Banner”—notifications: You can also decide whether your desktop notifications show a preview of the message or not. Go to Settings and more   > Settings   > Notifications and activity  > Display > and select Show message and content previews in notifications.

1. Open the Microsoft Teams app on your mobile device.
2. Tap your profile picture in the top left corner.
3. Go to Notifications.                                                                                                                                                                                          
4. Under Notify me on mobile for > Custom, enable any notifications that you would like to receive for any channel or chats.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

5. Customize Notification Settings:

6.  All activity: Get a notification for all the activity on teams.
7.  Chats and Calls: Only get notified for Chats and Calls.
8.  Only Calls: Only get notifications for calls.
9.  Custom: Customize the notifications that you want to get. Use the button to toggle notifications on and off.

6. Adjust Notification Preferences for channels: Under set channel notifications. Click and toggle the switches to turn notifications on or off for certain channels.

7. Additional Options:

• Quiet Hours: Set specific times when you do not want to receive notifications. After you click on 'Quiet Hours', you will be presented with the option to choose to mute notifications for certain hours on certain days, mute notification for a whole day or set quiet time for teams and outlook on all your mobile devices. You can toggle the buttons beside these options on to be able to customize what times you would like the notifications to start and end being muted.
• Sound & Vibration: Customize sound and vibration settings for notifications.
• Notification Tone: Choose the tone for notification alerts.

• Save Changes: After customizing your notification settings, tap 'Save' or 'Apply' to confirm your changes.
