In this page, you will find helpful answers to the most frequently asked questions about King's Faculty Account.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Is my King’s account password the same as my UWO account password?
Only if you chose to set them the same during account setup. We strongly recommend using different passwords for each account to minimize risk in case one is compromised.

  2. Can I use my new King’s account to log in to myKings?
Faculty King’s accounts are not currently enabled for myKings login, but this is a possibility for the future. For the moment, continue to use your UWO account and password to access mykings.ca.

  3. I already have Duo MFA with Western. Why am I being asked to set it up again?
Duo MFA is configured per organization. Your King's and UWO accounts are separate, so your Duo MFA accounts are also separate. If you're using the Duo MFA app on your phone, you will see both accounts/organizations inside the one app.

  4. It looks like I have a King's email. How do I access it?
You have been given a King's email account to facilitate access to Teams and Teams Calling. At the time of writing this (July 2025), your King's email address has been configured to automatically forward email to your UWO email. You can change this if you prefer, and access your King's email directly at http://www.kingsmail.ca.
  5. Why can't others find me in King's Teams? [OR] Why can't I find my faculty colleagues in King's Teams?
In the account creation phase (July-August 2025) your account has been hidden from the global address book. During the account creation phase the main focus is making sure you can log into your King's account, specifically King's Teams. We will enable accounts to be searchable in the near future.

  6. Why do I need a UWO account and a King's account?
UWO accounts are used to gain access to a wide range of educational systems provided by Western such as OWL, Zoom, and others. King's provides a separate account for access to corporate services at King's such as Team & Teams Calling, and others in the future.
