On October 19, 2018 as part of the 2018 Homecoming festivities, the School of Management, Economics, and Mathematics (School of MEM) held its official launch. The occasion was marked by a reception in the Garron Family Learning Lounge in the Darryl J. King Student Life Centre.

Kapil Lakhotia, BA ’02 (Economics), President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the London Economic Development Corporation who taught Economics at King’s from 2005-2010, returned to be the keynote speaker of the event.

The event served as an opportunity for current School of MEM students to meet alumni and for all to reconnect with fellow alumni, faculty and staff.

The School of MEM updated those in attendance on the long-term plans and vision for the School.

The School of MEM will provide students with a leading undergraduate experience through two programs: Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies. Both programs include multiple streams.

Currently, the School of MEM has three full-time Mathematics professors, eight Management and Organizational Studies professors and six Economics professors. An estimated 400 students are enrolled in Management programs with another 300 in Economics and Finance programs. As well the School has several student-run clubs including Accounting, Economics/Mathematics, Capital Management, BMOS. Students, faculty and staff produce the annual School of MEM Insider.
