Career Connect is a new online resource that enables King’s students to access a wide variety of career resources. Students can access the Career Connect webpage from the Student Services home page of the King’s website. Career Connect was developed by King’s career counsellor, Susan Akland and compliments the in-person support that is available on campus through Student Services at King’s and the Student Success Centre at Western.

Students can access career-related information in four key areas:

  • build experience
  • look for employment
  • learn about career options
  • learn about yourself

Additionally, Career Connect provides a central source for all career events and activities on campus including our Life After King’s Series jointly offered by Alumni Affairs, academic departments and Student Services.

“Our goal was not just about developing a site that focuses on job search or career planning, but the site also covers all the important aspects of building students’ competency in managing their career goals,” says Joe Henry, Dean of Students.

Students are able to

  • take an online assessment that will produce a list of career suggestions
  • connect with a King’s graduate in a particular field
  • explore career paths online
  • learn how to prepare for many types of interviews and get feedback of their resumes and cover letters

Career connect was created in partnership with the London Economic Development Corporation. This corporation works with business, government and community partners to attract business investment, develop a connected and supportive business climate and grow London's talented workforce.

Students are encouraged to use Career Connect as a resource throughout their journey at King's.
