February 27 - Naming It: The People of Black London (1900-1950)
Did you know Black train porters were called George regardless of their name? Public Historian Zahra McDoom joins us for this week's BIPOC Discussion Circle, naming people in old photos of Black London inviting us to create a shift from the unnamed, to the storied and named.
Zahra McDoom is a recent graduate from Western University. She conducts oral interviews with Black London elders, descended from freedom seekers, that will be archived at Western University.
