Message from the Principal:

Over the past months, I have worked closely with the Principal’s Advisory Group on COVID-19 and the Senior Administration team on our campus operations. We recently presented to College Council our Return to Campus framework. Today, I am sharing it with you as we work together to provide instruction and services to our students while supporting our faculty and staff in making King’s continue to be a Place to Be and a Place to Become.

This plan is designed for the safe return to work and study of our King’s community. It has been developed in consultation with the Principal’s Advisory Group on COVID-19, Senior Administration and it has been presented to and discussed in College Council. Our primary concern is our collective health and safety and as such, this framework will be adjusted as a function of the best practices and guidance of the Middlesex-London Health Unit and the Province of Ontario. If you work at King's and have any specific questions about your area, please contact your supervisor. There is also a general feedback form on this page.

King's Enrolment Services is to be commended for their creativity in developing methods to work with potential and incoming students during the pandemic. Our staff continues to provide support and information to these students, their families and supporters, about applying to King's, choosing courses and, of course, what the Fall 2020 semester will look like.

Over the course of the summer, Enrolment Services is holding daily virtual Summer Academic Orientation, with Academic Counsellors having one-on-one appointments via Zoom. We have had over 500 students take part in the Summer Academic Orientation thus far.

Working in conjunction with the members of our Information Technology Services department, a 360-degree virtual tour was created allowing future students to virtually walk through campus.

One of the newest features on our website is the King's Live Chat. During business hours, returning students can chat with a representative from Enrolment Services about course registration and other topics.

Enrolment Services will be open regular business hours and beginning in September, will have a welcome desk in its reception area. Physical Plant is working with Enrolment to install plexiglass in their offices and reception in order to ensure physical distancing. The welcome desk will be staffed by trained student assistants wearing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), and will assist individuals with enrolment concerns, provide general information, and make referrals to other units and services.

There has also been a Facebook group created for the King's Class of 2024 which I encourage all members of our incoming class to join as a way of connecting and networking with your classmates. A second Facebook group for parents and supporters of our students will be established.

I applaud the efforts of Enrolment Services which, like so many of our King's community, are implementing new methods of operation to ensure King's students, present and future, receive the assistance they require.

For more information on King's and COVID-19, please visit our COVID-19 page. I welcome your feedback and suggestions via email.

As always, take care of yourself, take care of each other and we will continue to update you on how we are taking care of this place for your return.
