Department of Political Science associate Professor, Dr. Ben Muller, has been named leader of a nationally recognized association. Dr. Muller is now President of the Canada Region International Studies Association. This involves managing the work of its 650 members and activities of the organization which includes: fundraising; selecting Program chairs for their regional conference to be held at the University of Calgary in June 2016; selecting and overseeing the committees charged with selecting a Distinguished Scholar award; and selecting the graduate student paper award. He also manages the Professional Development Committee, which has received grants from the ISA and has been recognized as one of the most ambitious and successful professional development programs among all the ISA regions. The Association focuses on young scholars developing their careers both inside and outside the academy.

Dr. Muller points out that the President of the ISA, Dr. Mark Boyer, is planning on attending the Canadian conference in 2016 to recognize the Canadian chapter as one of the most dynamic and energetic regions. Considering that the Canada-ISA Association was launched in 2002, Dr. Muller says the previous presidents of the Canadian chapter should be proud of how their leadership has helped shape the organization into an internationally recognized body.

Dr. Muller teaches International Politics and Security Studies. He is an active supporter of the King's Political Science Club.
