Thanks to the generosity and hard work of the wider King’s community 145 hot meals were served at the Hospitality Centre on Dundas Street East, London on Saturday April 13.

The bi-annual event is organized by the Office of Campus Ministry and is greatly assisted by volunteers from King’s staff, faculty and students along with members of the parish.  The hot meal service occurs twice a year, at Christmas and right after Easter.  This year 32 volunteers worked two shifts serving hot meals, fruit, beverages and dessert at the centre.  As well, guests enjoyed listening to music, playing cards and making crafts –all supplied by the King’s team.

One of the many donors of food was King’s student Caleb Chan.  He arranged to donate the balance of his meal plan via fruits and non-perishable items.  It certainly was a creative way for a student to support and assist others!

King’s also supports the Centre on the second Saturday of every month by providing “a safe environment” which includes sandwiches, beverages and baked goods along with card playing.  These evenings are organized by Annette Donovan Panchaud of Campus Ministry.  She welcomes your on-going support!   She can be reached at adonova5@uwo.ca
