Rick Csiernik, a professor in the Department of Social Work, has recently had a chapter, titled “The Role of Spirituality in Mediating the Trauma of Social Work Internships” published in a new book called Spirituality in Social Work and Education: Theory, Practice, and Pedagogies.

The chapter explores the relationship between social workers and their practice of spirituality. It illustrates how spirituality offers a communal way of life and provides principles and values for students studying in the social work field.
