GRADUATE STUDENT REFERENCE ASSISTANT (GSRA) - applications are closed

Please note: these positions are fully remote

The Cardinal Carter Library at King’s University College at Western University seeks two students from the Faculty of Information and Media Studies for a remote working contract to take place over the 2021 Summer Term (May to August).

The two successful applicants will work together on all aspects of a LibGuides redesign project, from an environmental scan to the technical changes. This position is an attractive complement to full-time studies, with a 10 hour per week time commitment.

King’s University College is the largest of Western’s three affiliate university colleges, serving a largely undergraduate population of over 3,500 students, and supports a graduate program in Social Work.

Applicants should be currently enrolled in the MLIS program at FIMS, and fluent in both spoken and written English.

The ideal candidates are detail oriented, creative, adaptable, and have excellent project management skills. Excellent technical skills, and previous work with the Springshare LibGuides platform is essential. You must be able to work both independently and, on a team, as this project requires both types of interactions.

The successful candidates must be available to meet on Zoom with subject librarians 1-2 times weekly during regular working hours (Monday to Friday, 9-4), and with their fellow GSRA colleague on Zoom at other times as determined, for the duration of the contract.

Questions may be forwarded to Emma Swiatek, Head: Research and Information Services at emma.swiatek@kings.uwo.ca

The deadline for applications is Friday March 26, 2021 at 4:00pm

Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Positions are subject to budgetary approval.
