Father James Martin, SJ will be speaking to the King’s community and the public via Skype on the topic of “Showing Respect and Welcome to LGBT People in the Church” at the next event in the Veritas Series. This talk will take place on Thursday, October 17, 2019 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Joanne & Peter Kenny Theatre in the Darryl J. King Student Life Centre. The free event is open to the public and will be hosted by King’s Campus Ministry and co-sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph. Parking is available on campus.

Father Martin and the audience will engage via a live interactive video conference in discussing how the Catholic Church can treat LGBT people with the respect, compassion and sensitivity called for in the Catechism, and the love called by Jesus.

James Martin, SJ, is a Jesuit priest, editor-at-large of America magazine, consultor to the Vatican's Dicastery for Communication, and the author of many books including New York Times bestsellers Jesus: A Pilgrimage and The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything.
