Ms. Lily Wang, President, London International Education Centre, announced a new educational pathway for Chinese students in advancing from high school into university. The program was created in collaboration with King’s University College, Brescia University College and the London District Catholic School Board.

President Wang introduced the new educational pathway titled the ‘2 + 1 + 4 program’ to a large audience in Guangzhou, China. The Consul General, Mr. Weldon Edd and Education Commissioner, Mrs. Connie Li of the Canadian Consulate General, hosted the event which was covered by 20 media agencies.

The program is representative of:

  • (2) - the international student’s two years (or more) of secondary education in their home country;
  • (+ 1) - followed by one year (or two years depending on the needs of the student) of academic study at a LDCSB Secondary School leading to an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD);
  • (+ 4) - followed by four years of study at a University in Canada to complete an undergraduate degree.

Students admitted into the 2+1+4 program will be given conditional acceptance to King’s or Brescia; and upon their successful completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma in addition to an acceptable average will be fully admitted into studying at King’s or Brescia.
