It is not very often that King’s sees elementary grade students on campus.

However, on May 11, 2015, a group of 20 gifted grade eight students from across the London District Catholic School Board participated in a Social Justice Leadership Day at King’s. The students are part of the Grade 8 Enrichment Opportunities Program within the LDCSB.

The students were led in prayer to start the day and then proceeded into team building activities where the students were required to build trust among their teammates in order to win the challenges. In addition, the students performed skits where they were required to re-create bible stories such as Genesis 1 and 2 – The Beginning, and the story of Adam and Eve.

In the afternoon, King’s alumna Skylar Franke ‘13, led a presentation and facilitated discussion among the gifted students, with a focus on Justice and Equity. The students participated in an activity to accompany Skylar’s presentation, and afterwards ended the day in a closing prayer.

We hope they enjoyed their first experience of post-secondary education!
