Looking for a way to get involved and make a difference in the King’s community? The King’s University College Students’ Council (KUCSC) is looking for talented and motivated people to join their team. Nominations for president and representatives are now open until Friday, January 18.

There are a number of positions available for representatives from several departments, including:

  • Four (4) Representatives – University Students’ Council
  • Three (3) Representatives – King’s College Council
  • Two (2) Representatives – Second-Year Students
  • One (1) Representative – St. Peter’s Seminary
  • One (1) Representative – School of Social Work
  • One (1) Representative – Mature Students
  • One (1) Representative – Graduating Class Representative
  • Two (2) Representatives – Modern Language Faculties
    • 1 enrolled in Honors French, 1 enrolled in Honors English
  • Two (2) Representatives – School of MEM
    • 1 enrolled in Honors Economics program, 1 enrolled in Honors MOS program
  • One (1) Representative – History Department
  • One (1) Representative – Philosophy Department
  • One (1) Representative – Political Science Department
  • One (1) Representative – Psychology Department
  • One (1) Representative – Religious Studies Department
  • One (1) Representative – Sociology Department
  • One (1) Representative – Childhood and Social Institutions program
  • One (1) Representative – Social Justice and Peace program
  • Two (2) Representatives – Affiliate Colleges Senators
  • One (1) Representative – Accessibilities
  • One (1) Representative – International Students
  • One (1) – Thanatology Student
  • One (1) – Disability Studies Student
  • One (1) – Indigenous Student

In order to qualify, candidates must have achieved a 65% cumulatively or in the last academic year. Students looking to run for a department representative position must be enrolled in the honours specialization stream of their program.

Think you’ve got what it takes? Stop by the KUCSC office (KC208) in the Student Life Centre and pick up a nomination form. Fill out the form, which includes obtaining signatures from 10 different King’s students, and return it to the KUCSC office before the all candidates meeting, taking place on Friday January 18 at 10 p.m. at KC214, next to the KUCSC offices. The meeting is mandatory and candidates will not be allowed to run if they cannot make the meeting. However, if necessary, they can assign someone as a proxy to attend the meeting on their behalf.
