The Office of Campus Ministry at King’s will host a benefit concert for the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, featuring the talent of classical soprano, Alexandra Smither. The concert will take place on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in ‘The Chapel’ at Windermere on the Mount (1486 Richmond Street). Admission is donate-what-you-can.

Smither is from London, Ontario and she is a parishioner of Christ the King University Parish at King’s University College. Recently named by the CBC as one of Canada's “Top 30 Under 30 Hot Classical Musicians,” she is quickly making a name for herself in the world of old and new classical music. In May 2017, Alexandra took first place at the prestigious Eckhardt-Grammaté National Music Competition.

She has a personal connection to the city of Houston, having lived there for three years while studying for her Master’s degree at Rice University. She continues to perform in Houston and has a performing engagement with Houston Grand Opera this coming fall.
