At the annual Vanier Cup All-Canadian awards banquet, held by U Sports on November 24 in London, five King’s student-athletes, who are members of the Western Mustangs, were honoured as All-Canadians. This honour goes to the top university football players in Canada, similar to an all-star national team recognition.

“We celebrate and applaud excellence inside and outside the classroom at King’s. The commitment, passion and dedication of student-athletes who must balance school and elite-level athletics must be acknowledged and we are continually proud of partnership with the Western Mustangs,” says Joe Henry, Dean of Students.

The following King’s student-athletes were named All-Canadians for the 2022 football season:

1st Team All-Canadians

  • Keon Edwards (Running Back)
  • Savaughn Magnaye-Jones (Receiver)
  • Phillip Grohovac (Guard)
  • Daniel Valente, Jr. (Free Safety)

2nd Team All-Canadians

  • Zach Fry (Tackle)

Congratulations to the King’s student-athletes on achieving this recognition a result of their hard work and dedication.
