It is with great sadness that we extend our sympathy to the Western community on the tragic death of four Western graduate students. They died in the crash of Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752 in Iran. Students and faculty from numerous Canadian universities were among those 63 Canadians who were killed.

We have lowered our flags at King's in their memory.

Western President and Vice-Chancellor Alan Shepard has expressed his condolences and provided more information at https://news.westernu.ca/2020/01/western-mourns-loss-of-students-on-flight-ps752/. The Western community will gather in the International and Graduate Affairs Building (IGAB) atrium at 5 p.m. this afternoon. I will be there with them and invite you to join me in person or with your prayers.

Counselling services are available to the King’s community.

Any student, faculty or staff who would like to speak with a counsellor is encouraged to contact Personal Counselling at King’s to arrange an appointment.
