This document will show you how to access files on King’s GroupDrive Service (http://gd1.kc.uwo.ca) from a Windows device. This will give you the ability to upload, download, edit, and even stream movies/music directly from your GroupDrive/Kloud account. 

Configuring Windows 7 for GroupDrive Access  

1. Click on the Start Menu Button at the bottom left of the screen

2. Click on Computer

3. Click on Map network drive

The King’s GroupDrive server is named gd1.kc.uwo.ca, and our sample username is accountid, so the full URL is: http://gd1.kc.uwo.ca/User/accountid. The accountid would be replaced with your own King’s GroupDrive username.

4. Select the Drive which your network drive is set up on

5. Type in the server name i.e. “http://gd1.kc.uwo.ca/user/accountid

6. Click on Finish

A security window will open up and request a login password

7. Type in your Password to access the GroupDrive

8. Your GroupDrive folder will be displayed.

Macintosh OS X and later include native support for accessing files stored on the King’s GroupDrive/Kloud server. Using the native WebDAV support, you can upload, download, edit, and even stream movies/music directly from your GroupDrive/Kloud account. 

Macintosh OS X and later include native support for accessing files stored on the King’s GroupDrive server. Using the native WebDAV support, you can upload, download, edit, and even stream movies/music directly from your GroupDrive account. There is no need to download or install any special software to access your GroupDrive account for a system with OS X. 

Configuring Macintosh OS X 10.4 and Later 

Use the following procedure if you have OS X version 10.4 or above

1. Select GO on the task bar to access the GO menu

2. Click on Connect to Server

3. When prompted, type the KING’S GroupDrive URL and your user path.

The King’s GroupDrive server is named gd1.kc.uwo.ca, and our sample username is accountid, so the full URL is: http://gd1.kc.uwo.ca/User/accountid.  The accountid would be replaced with your own King’s GroupDrive username.

4. Click Connect

5. Type in your Name and Password in the spaces provided

6. You may check off the box if you wish to have your password saved in your Keychain

7. Click on Connect
