Earning this certificate demonstrates the effort you have put into your growth as an effective and successful student.  All students can earn the Certificate of Academic Engagement after they have attended the required number of activities, which can then be added to your co-curricular record as part of the My King's Experience – Western’s Co-curricular Record.

In order to earn the certificate, you must complete the following activities:

  1. Attend 3 of the workshop sessions (listed below) throughout the year (all sessions take place at the Wemple Fireplace near the Subway)
    • Meet Campus Resources 
      • Tuesday Sept 11, 12:00-1:00pm – KAMP
      • Tuesday Sept 18, 12:00-1:00pm – Write Place
      • Tuesday Sept 25, 12:00-1:00pm – STARS Peer Learning Coaches 
      • Tuesday Oct 2, 12:00-1:00pm – Personal Counselling
    • Fireplace Learning Sessions
      • Tuesday Oct 16, 7:00-8:00pm – Tips for Taking Good Notes
      • Tuesday Nov 13, 7:00-8:00pm – How to Make Studying in a Group Work for You
      • Tuesday March 12, 7:00-8:00pm – Study Strategies that Help Smash Procrastination
  2. Meet with a Peer Learning Coach in the STARS Learning Lab
  3. Attend a “Studying for Exams” seminar (held in KC 119)
