What should I do if I am going to miss course work, a test or exam?

  • As soon as possible, but no later than two days after a missed exam, complete an Academic Consideration Request, uploading appropriate documentation,
  • Please submit a Student Medical Certificate (SMC), signed by a licensed medical or mental health practitioner, detailing the duration and severity of illness with your Academic Consideration Request no later than two business days after the date specified for resuming responsibilities. (Students opting into USC's insurance may use this virtual service for short-term (COVID, etc.) illnesses and medical notes: https://www.mystudentplan.ca/purplecare/en/myvirtualdoctor)
  • Where possible, students should inform their Instructor prior to the date of the exam.
  • Carefully consider the implications of postponing exams or delaying handing in work.  For example, a delay in completing your work may impact your eligibility to graduate in June or, if you are continuing your studies next year, the timing of your course registration appointment.

King's follows the provincial guidelines and recommendations for COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses such as influenza (the flu) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
