Play basketball for King's!

King's University College offers one of the premier university club and extramural basketball programs in North America. The King’s University College Men’s Basketball team participates in tournaments organized by Ontario Collegiate Recreation (OCR), NIRSA and the National Club Basketball Association of America (NCBBA). These organizations administer events where teams representing their respective institutions compete against other colleges and universities. Neither Western nor any other Western-affiliated college participates in the OCR, NIRSA or the NCBBA.

Over the last three years, the Kings team has played in over 70 games in tournaments at Humber, Centennial, Mohawk, Seneca, Sheridan, Laurier (Brantford), UTM, Penn State, Purdue, Maryland, and Georgia Tech. In the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, King’s also played in the US National Basketball Championships at the University of Wisconsin.

During the 2025-26 academic year, King’s will play in 8-12 tournaments across North America. The tournaments in Canada are one day long, and those in the US take place over a weekend. Transportation to and from the tournaments, and accommodation, is provided.

The team practices on Tuesdays (8-9:30pm at Beal SS) and Thursdays (8:15-9:30 pm at Wheable Adult Education Centre) starting in late September.

The team is coached by Professor Jason Neyers, a director of Thames Valley Basketball Academy, who is NCCP registered, and has level 2 certification from Basketball Canada.
