Research

Patristic Theology, Christology, Theology of Hans Urs von Balthasar

My doctoral research focused on the Christology of Hans Urs von Balthasar, specifically on the structural affinities with Neo-Chalcedonian Christology as expressed in the thought of Maximus the Confessor, and on the implications for a theology of the knowledge and consciousness of Christ. My present research continues to interrogate the theological and historiographical presuppositions of contemporary readings of patristic thought, particularly in Trinitarian theology and Christology.
