International students do not qualify for the 8, 12 and 16 month internship work terms IN CANADA under the requirements of their student visas.
“Your intended employment must be an essential part of your program of study in Canada. The work permit authorizes you to work up to 20 hours per week during regular academic sessions, and full time during scheduled breaks (for example, winter and summer holidays, and spring break).”
- Under point #1, an internship is not a requirement of the MOS internship program; it is optional.
- Under point #2, international students are restricted to the number of hours they can work during school.
MOS international students CAN participate in a MOS Internship IF they get their own internship placement in their home country.
Documentation would have to be provided to King’s by the company with whom you have the internship, and it would have to meet the requirements of other MOS Internship placements.
3rd yr MOS international students who would like to participate in the Internship Program, MUST attend an Information and a Resume/Interview Session.
