The Selection Committee for our next Principal at King's University College has been meeting regularly over the last few months and is diligently working through the important steps of the process to select our next Principal.

The Selection Committee has nineteen members - each member bringing perspectives that in total reflect the broad King's community - faculty, staff, administration, students and the Board. The Committee is committed to being informed and guided by the collective insight of the King's University College community on the mandate and ideal candidate profile for our next Principal. The Committee needs the input of the full King's University College community as we prepare for this search. We invite you to share your feedback and perspectives on the draft Position Profile for the next Principal.

Specifically, we would like to hear:

  • What changes should be made to the draft Position Profile to more accurately reflect the most essential priorities for the new Principal?
  • What changes should be made to the draft Position Profile to reflect the most essential competencies (in terms of skills, experience, credentials, or leadership attributes) for the new Principal?
  • Is there anything else that you would like candidates to be aware of or understand about King's University College or this role in particular?
  • Is there anything else you would like the search committee to consider?

You can share your feedback and perspectives either by completing this electronic survey, by emailing your comments to our search consultant at or in-person at one of three open sessions on September 19. The sessions will take place at 10 a.m.-11 a.m. (W170), 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. (LH103) or for the first portion of the College Council meeting at 3:30 p.m. in LH100. All feedback will be shared in aggregated form with the Selection Committee and your responses will not be shared with attribution unless you specifically request this.

Feedback would be appreciated anytime during this search;however,it would be helpful if you could provide feedback on the draft Position Profile by September 21, 2018.

We are committed to following a process and timeline that attracts a strong group of candidates, and we are working collegially to assess and recommend outstanding candidates that reflect the collective hopes and expectations for the future of the King's community. See more information about the Selection Committee, their mandate, and any updates. The Selection Committee will be supported by the executive search firm KBRS with Anna Stuart as the lead search consultant.

While the work of the search committee continues, your nominations or recommendations of candidates would be most welcome.

We anticipate that we will provide an update to the King's community on the progress of the search at the end of the fall term and again early in the winter term. Updates will also be posted on the Principal Search page.

We are committed to representing you and the entire King's community in this important search process.

We look forward to hearing your feedback and thank you in advance for your support for this important work.
