King’s students will have the opportunity to contribute feedback on courses and teaching, as part of the Winter term Student Questionnaires on Courses and Teaching (SQCT), open from March 23-April 13, 2021.

The feedback will positively affect King’s going forward, both with assisting departments and schools with course planning and because results are available to students, they will be able to use the information for course selection.

“Student responses to the Student Questionnaires and Courses and Teaching are used by individual instructors, Departments/Schools, and the Academic Dean’s Office to aid in the planning and design of courses for the upcoming academic year. Student Feedback is a vital component of the planning process at King’s, especially as it relates to informing the design of King’s remote and/or blended delivery courses,” says Thomas Gray, Academic Data and Operations Coordinator.

Western University will email students a link to the online survey, focusing on each of their courses and instructors’ teaching. Because the surveys are anonymized by Western, the instructor will be unable to associate the feedback with individual students.

The survey consists of 15 questions including four demographic questions and 11 scaled questions. Two comment boxes will also be provided to allow for written comments from students.

Students who complete their SQCTs will be entered to win a new smart phone, one of five $100 Amazon gift cards, or one of two AirPods Pro as part of a raffle operated by Western University.

“Historically King’s has very strong SQCT response rates - we hope to maintain our usual strong response rates as student feedback is especially important in our virtual context ,” says Gray.
