Join the Centre for Creativity for their panel discussion on Creativity, Food, and Entrepreneurship featuring Andrew Fleet of Growing Chefs! Ontario and Jill Wilcox of Jill’s Table. All are welcome to attend.

The event will include a discussion on the importance of food education, food scarcity and food sovereignty. The discussion will also touch on topics that directly impact students, such as healthy eating, food sourcing and eating locally. Growing Chefs! Ontario and Jill’s Table are examples of two local businesses that share the love of good food and creative approaches to running a business.

Jeremy Greenway, Chair of the Centre for Creativity at King’s, says “not only can people be creative with recipes and food presentation; they also find creative ways to make food a driver of social change, whether that be to promote causes, raise awareness, bridge communities, or just to make sure people have enough to eat.”

Both Growing Chefs! Ontario and Jill’s Table detail their community involvement on their websites. Growing Chefs! Ontario is committed to their mission to get kids excited about wholesome healthy food. Jill’s Table is an active community shop, often showcasing local food artisans and is a major contributor to the Jill Wilcox Foundation. Growing Chefs! Ontario and Jill’s table are two businesses that help drive social change by creatively teaching and educating their communities about food.

Greenway explains that both Growing Chefs! and Jill’s Table, “may have different operational models, but both are deeply rooted in strengthening communities. Both are passionate about food education.”
