A Message from Dr. Dave Malloy, King's Principal:

We are immensely proud of the number of international students who have become part of our community. King’s is home to over 850 international students from 30 countries from around the world. We value the culture and diversity they bring to our inclusive environment.

The King's International office has always been diligent in working to provide services and support for our international students, to help them adapt to attending university and making a new home for themselves in London and Canada.

In the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, King's International and indeed King's University College as a whole, continues our best efforts to ease the transition of international students who will be coming to campus. We have arranged for residence and non-residence students to have access to transportation and self-isolation through Maple Assist. Residents can also make their own self-isolation plan, with certain requirements for authorization to move into residence. More information can be found here.

The COVID-19 pandemic has only increased the challenges faced by international students but the staff in King's International continues to offer the programs and services necessary to ensure a seamless transition to King's for international students.

  • The Bridging Program will be available virtually and in-person from September 2-6, 2020. This is an annual program designed to provide an opportunity for new students to become comfortable with King’s, Western and London prior to the excitement and hectic pace of the Orientation Program for all new students. It is a combination of academic orientation, practical workshops, and fun activities. For more information, please visit the Bridging Orientation webpage.
  • The King's International Peer Guide Program is designed to assist international and exchange students new to King’s with adjustment to university life and Canadian culture. This voluntary program matches new international students with returning King's students. International students and peer guides benefit from this opportunity by developing cross-cultural skills and understanding as well as diverse friendship networks. For more information, please visit the Peer Guide webpage.
  • Every Wednesday, King's International answers your questions about the upcoming school year, events, visa requirements, study permits, and more on their Instagram account (@kings_intl).

Our international students can find additional information about the services and programs King's International offers, including information regarding arriving in Canada during COVID-19, on their web page.

King's will continue to host International Student events, which will be done virtually or in person, following public health guidance.

Even in this time of adjustment, King's remains committed to offering our students, international and domestic, the best possible educational experience. We will work together to overcome any obstacles to ensure our students have everything they require to begin their journey towards the future, including offering career support.

As we continue to move forward into the fall semester, I welcome your feedback and suggestions via email.

As always, take care of yourself, take care of each other and we will update you on how we are taking care of this place for your return.
