A message from Dr. David Malloy, King's Principal:

May 1, 2020 and time to greet a brand new day, the first day of our 2020-2021 fiscal year. This will be a year we will never forget. Our summer school starts on Monday, May 4 and for the first time it will be fully online, offering 76 courses. Thank you to our faculty and staff who have worked together to create this new instructional delivery model.

Also for the first time at the start of a new fiscal year, we are continuing to support more than 30 students in residence including new arrivals who need a temporary place to live during the pandemic. Thank you to all who are supporting our students in residence.

This year we will bid a fond farewell to our long-serving Vice-Principal and Academic Dean, Dr. Sauro Camiletti. He has served King’s as a mathematics professor, as a Dean and as a devoted member of our community on numerous committees, many as Chair. His work this past year has been invaluable to myself and to King’s. Thank you Sauro.

On behalf of the Search Committee for the new Vice-Principal & Academic Dean, I wish to express my thanks to everyone who was able to participate in the community sessions with the four candidates. The Search Committee will benefit from hearing your feedback on the candidates. Please email your feedback by May 8 to astuart@kbrs.ca. Please note that all feedback will be collected and provided to the Search Committee verbatim. The name of the author of the letter or comments will be disclosed unless it is indicated in their email to Ms. Stuart that they would like to have their identity remain anonymous. The OWL site will be available until May 8.

Our Student Emergency Fund has now supported more than 300 King’s students with financial assistance of more than $80,000. Thank you to the members of the King’s community who have so generously donated more than $62,000 to date on top of the $33,000 from King’s. If you are able, please consider supporting the fund. A donation of any amount will make a difference. You can donate to the Student Emergency Fund via our website or by contacting the Alumni and Development department.

As always, please take care of yourself, each other and clearly the King’s community is taking care of all aspects of this place.
