King’s Campus Ministry will welcome Archbishop Linda Nicholls of the Anglican Church of Canada to King’s as part of the Veritas Series on January 23, 2020. This free event will be held in the Joanne & Peter Kenny Theatre beginning at 7 p.m.

Archbishop Nicholls will explore the signs of hope for unity.  Her talk is entitled “That They May Be One.” She discusses, in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, how  in John 17, "that they may be one..." is being lived today. She asks “Are there signs of hope?” through the lens of parish and diocesan leadership and ecumenical dialogue. Co-sponsored by the Ecumenical Commission of the Diocese of London.

“We’re so fortunate to have Archbishop Nicholls, recently elected as Primate for the Anglican Church of Canada, join us for this lecture during the week of prayer for Christian Unity.   Her leadership and scholarship models the possibility of sustained respectful dialogue in the midst of diverse voices.  It’s a message we all need to hear,” says Jim Donovan Panchaud, Pastoral Counsellor at King’s.

Archbishop Linda Nicholls was elected as the Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada in July 2019.  Prior to that, she served as bishop of the Diocese of Huron (2016-2019) after eight years as Area Bishop of Trent Durham in the Diocese of Toronto where she also served as a priest for twenty years in parish ministry. She has served on the Anglican Roman Catholic Dialogue in Canada as a member (1989-1997) and Co-Chair (2011-2019) and is a member of the Anglican Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC III). Her D.Min. thesis (2002), “That They May Be One”, explored sustaining unity at the Eucharistic table in the midst of division, particularly on moral issues.

Free parking will be offered.
