While King’s students come to campus to study, some also find employment opportunities here. During the summer months, King’s University College offers the Summer Work Study Program, designed to give OSAP students the opportunity to work here between academic years, while gaining valuable work experience.

The program is currently open and accepting applications, until 3:30pm on Friday, March 8th.

“Students will gain valuable work experience and insight into the inner-workings of a University institution through this four-month paid program. There are a variety of positions students can apply to in over a dozen different departments and faculties at King’s,” says Kayley MacGregor, Experiential Learning Coordinator, Student Affairs.

Students must have been a full-time undergraduate OSAP student with a minimum of 60% average during the previous September-April study period and be returning as a full-time undergraduate OSAP student in the upcoming year.

The student will work 35 hours per week at a pay rate of $14.56/hour which includes 4% vacation pay. Students will work 7.5 hours per day, during which they will receive a half hour unpaid lunch and two paid 15-minute breaks.

In 2018, King’s had 42 summer work study students.
