King’s students are encouraged to submit their major research projects to the 2019 Undergraduate Awards. The deadline to submit work to the Awards is June 11, 2019. This is an opportunity for students to see their work recognized by an international organization, to be judged by professional academics from the world's top universities, and to join a worldwide network of fellow undergraduates delivering top research in their chosen field.

Domonic McDonald, a fourth-year student, BA Honors Specialization in Political Science and Foundations in Western Thought and Civilization, and Wyatt Merkley, BA ‘17 Honors Specialization in English Language & Literature, were named regional winners in the 2018 Awards. There are currently seven Undergraduate Award (UA) regions: Africa & Middle East, Asia, Europe, Island of Ireland, Latin America, Oceania, US & Canada. A Regional Winner is the highest-performing Highly Commended Entrant from a UA region in their category.

In addition, Floranda Agroam, BA Honors ‘18 Political Science and Social Justice and Peace Studies, and Chloee Godin-Jacques, a fourth-year student, BA Honors Specialization in Social Justice and Peace Studies, Minor in Disability Studies, had their research recognized as Highly Recommended as part of the 2018 Awards. Entrants whose paper or project ranked in the top 10% of submissions in their category are shortlisted as Highly Commended Entrants.

Students are also given the opportunity to present their work to an audience of their fellow academic students in Dublin, Ireland. This gives each attendee not only the chance to showcase their work but to create long lasting professional and personal relationships.

The Undergraduate Awards is an international awards program recognizing creativity, excellence and innovative thinking within student coursework. It is the world’s leading undergraduate awards program which recognizes top undergraduate work, shares this work with a global audience and connects students across cultures and disciplines. In 2018, the program received 4,887 submissions from 333 universities in 46 countries around the world.

Global Winners are published annually in The Undergraduate Journal, as well as being invited to the UA Global Summit in Dublin. This is a four-day networking and brainstorming event which brings the world’s top students together for a series of inspirational lectures, workshops and discussions. Winners and Highly Commended Entrants also gain access to the UA Alumni Network.

Since 2015, seven King’s students have received Highly Commended recognition, with two students being named Regional Winners of the Undergraduate Awards.
