Kelsey Veltman vs Windsor 2017

Kelsey Veltman named to Team Canada roster for Summer Universiade

| By:
The reigning three-time OUA West Player of the Year has added another impressive mark to her record as Kelsey Veltman has been selected to represent Canada in women's volleyball at the 2017 Summer Universiade.

Veltman joins 11 other U SPORTS players on the Team Canada roster that will play at the 29th FISU Summer Games being held in Taipei City from August 19-30. The Brampton, Ont., native is one of three Mustangs that will be competing at the Universiade, along with Aaron Schneebeli in men's soccer, and Robin Bone in pole vault.

The honour is another in a long line of accolades for Veltman, who's been nothing short of dominant since arriving on the university volleyball scene. Along with her three OUA West Player of the Year awards, Veltman is a three-time OUA West All-Star and two-time U SPORTS All-Canadian. She was also named to the OUA and U SPORTS All-Rookie teams in her debut season.

This past year she led all U SPORTS players in solo blocks (35), and ranked second in blocks per set (1.35), while also coming in at number four with 5.2 points per set. The King's College student was also fourth in hitting percentage with a .325 success rate, and ninth with 3.81 kills per set.

Veltman and Team Canada will hit the court for their first matchup on August 21 when they take on Switzerland at 1 p.m. local time.
