Dr. Wendy Ellis, Associate Professor of Psychology, spoke to The Catholic Register on a recent publication from the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communications titled Towards Full Presence: A Pastoral Reflection on Engagement with Social Media. From a psychologist’s perspective, Dr. Ellis looks at social media, both in terms of what it adds to a person’s life and what it takes away. “You can have this online community,” she said. “But not at the expense of the in-person.”
