Awards, Scholarships and Bursaries

Are you a "First in Family (New Generation) Student"?

If you are the first in your family to attend post-secondary (i.e. your parents did not attend college or university), you are a First in Family (New Generation) student and may be eligible for awards and may wish to access some services or activities.

NOTE: Please submit applications for scholarships, awards or bursaries with an October closing date, after August 1, 2012. 

Scholarships Awards & Bursaries

NOTE:  ANY NEEDS BASED AWARD REQUIRES STUDENTS TO APPLY, BUT NOT NECESSARILY QUALIFY FOR GOVERNMENT FUNDING (OSAP).
STUDENTS MAY QUALIFY FOR NEEDS BASED AWARDS WITH EDUCATIONAL DEBT (example, lines of credit).

High School Entrance Bursary

High School Entrance Bursary - up to a dollar value of $750.00. Entrance Bursaries are awarded to full-time, first-year students who are entering from high school.  Students must have applied and qualified for needs based OSAP funded programs, have ministry unmet need and have been offered admission by King's University College.  Please apply to http://osap.gov.on.ca  by the June 30, 2012 deadline.  Should you have any questions, please contact the Student Financial Services Office at King's University College. General Bursaries

Students that do not qualify for other King's University College Bursaries that may be experiencing financial difficulties are encouraged to apply for this bursary.  This bursary is also available to students that may find themselves in a financial emergency such as unexpected medical expenses not covered by normal provincial or federal funding.  Each application is reviewed in detail and decisions are made on a student by student basis regarding the level of funding necessary.  Complete Application

Volunteer Summer Employment Bursary Program

The Volunteer Bursary provides OSAP students the means to earn summer income and additional work experience in different fields while contributing to the community.  Funds are limited to qualified students on a first come first serve basis.  Applications may be submitted as early as March 1, 2012, but no later than May 15, 2012 provided funds are still available.  This program will close once maximum funding has been assigned for the coming academic year. 

Work Study Bursaries

This program gives students that can demonstrate financial need the opportunity to work at King's University College along side Faculty, Administration and Staff. This unique program will provide students with work experience that will prove to be beneficial in the work force or for a post graduate degree.
