Student Life Campaign
Launched in 2008 with a goal of $10.5 million dollars, the Student Life Campaign is King’s most ambitious fundraising initiative in the College’s history. The Campaign is focused on two key initiatives – The Darryl J. King Student Life Centre and creating more financial assistance for students in need.
Student Life Campaign Priorities
The Student Life Campaign focuses on two key initiatives
- The Darryl J. King Student Life Centre and
- Creating more financial assistance for students in need
Enriching the Student Experience – The Darryl J. King Student Life Centre
King’s has made a major commitment to enrich and support student life on our campus, to further create a positive learning environment that will enhance the opportunity for academic, social and spiritual growth of all our students. At the centre of this initiative is the Darryl J. King Student Life Centre
Our students are by nature community builders and require warm and inviting physical space that allows for collaborative learning outside the classroom and the opportunity to interact with students of different cultures, religions and values. This beautiful light filled building will integrate a learning commons, café, theatre, student services as well as social, spiritual, recreational and fitness space. The Darryl J. King Student Life Centre will be conveniently located adjacent to the Cardinal Carter Library.
The King Centre will complete our recent campus expansion and is intended to nurture the dynamic community for which King’s is known.
Ensuring Access – Student Bursaries and Awards
The College’s bursary and awards program reflects our commitment to accessibility and ensures that the most deserving students will be able to attend King’s, regardless of their financial situation. Currently, over 60% of our students require financial assistance.
As the cost of a university education continues to rise, student assistance programs become increasingly important.
A message from our Campaign Co-Chairs

We have always been proud of our association with King’s University College and the fact that it has remained true to its mission. It is a vital academic community animated by a Christian love of learning and the pursuit of truth. The value of each individual, the development of the whole person, and the importance of social justice are key components of the King’s experience. As a result, King’s has always attracted students with enthusiasm and dedication to intellectual and moral growth.
Our future as a society depends on preparing students who are equipped to understand different peoples, religions and cultures. That is why we are delighted to lead The Student Life Campaign – At the Centre of It All. The Campaign, that we are honoured to chair, will raise $10.5 million.
Students are the heart and soul of King’s. It’s time to focus more on student life, student activities on campus, and to create a positive learning environment that will further the academic, social and spiritual growth for all of our undergraduates.
You can join us in helping to create an enriched educational experience and a supportive campus environment that will give our young people the best opportunity possible to thrive in and improve an ever-changing world.
Sincerely,
Andy and Helen Spriet
