Jane Moore, Ed.D., FT is Professor Emerita at National-Louis University in Chicago, IL, USA. She has degrees from: B.A., St. Mary's Dominican College, New Orleans, LA; M.Ed. Tulane University, New Orleans, LA; and Ed.D., National-Louis University, Chicago, IL. She served as the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) for 5 years and earned the Fellow in Thanatology in 2006.
Professor Moore was an elementary classroom teacher for 27 years before becoming a teacher educator at the undergraduate and graduate level. She has been a hospice volunteer since 1985. Her research centers around the ways in which school communities deal with death. She is particularly interested in building online community in death education courses. Professor Moore is married to a clinical ethicist/priest, has two grown children,two granddaughters, Eliza and Nola, who live in Houston, Texas and three grandsons: Benjamin, Charlie and Teddy, who live in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. She resides in Wheaton, Illinois and teaches online.
