Recent Catholic Partnership Initiatives

Student Focused Initiatives:

  • CARPE DIEM:  CATHOLIC STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE– The fourth annual student leadership conference will be held on Friday May 30th.  Each year, more students participate in this inspirational event.   We now have “alumni” of the event who are King’s students who assist with the planning and implementation of the conference.  We hope to have students or administrators from other Catholic boards join us this year to widen our circle.
  • MIND, BODY and SPIRIT– King’s provides the facilities for this workshop which provides inspiration to female students on issues of concern including positive self-esteem and body image, healthy relationships, wellness and faith.
  • RETREAT AND LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE KEYNOTE SPEAKERS AND FACILITATORS   - At the invitation of the partner board, King’s will provide keynote speakers and/or workshop facilitators for retreat and/or leadership conferences on board sites.

Educator Focused Initiatives:

  • CAMPUS MINISTRY RETREATS– The Campus Ministry Team at King’s hosts
annual retreats for high school chaplains from our partner boards.  All are welcome!
  • TASK (Teachers as Scholars at King’s) – This successful program has been provided for five years.  Each year, King’s hosts four full day workshops where teachers choose two seminars led by King’s faculty.  Participants give glowing reviews of these intellectually invigoration yet relaxing professional development days.
  • FACULTY LECTURES-  Recent professional development days organized for counsellors have included Teen Suicide, Communicating with Difficult Adolescents,  and Grief and Bereavement.  Department Heads have attended a Day focused on “Teaching through a Catholic lens” and Religion Teachers and Chaplains have discussed “Religious Diversity in a Catholic School Setting”.
