King’s Model UN Delegation an award winning team
Story courtesy of King's University College Students' Council (KUCSC)
On Saturday November 19 members of King’s Delegation to Harvard participated at Western Ontario Model UN (WOMUN). The delegates who attended remarked that it was a rewarding conference of stimulating discussion and dialogue with university students from across Ontario.
Delegates Mike Potters and Julie Richardson observed the event while Garret Hunter, Amberley Ruetz, Nicholas Dagostino, Garett Hunter and Dave Ennett each sat on various committees. Two of our delegates, Usman Zahid and Aaleesha Jamal chaired committees.
Despite the delegations relative newness to undergraduate Model UN Conferences two of our team members won awards. Garret Hunter (3rd year political science and philosophy) received honourable mention for his role as French diplomat in the Historical Joint Crisis Committee and Dave Ennett (3rd year political science) won best delegate for his role in the Joint Crisis Committee representing The National Liberation Front (FLN).
Delegates took part in this event as part of an ongoing process to develop their skills for the forthcoming Model UN competition at Harvard. King’s delegates will continue to enhance their Model UN experience by hosting an in-house Conference in the New Year. If you have any questions or comments about the delegation, and the growing Model UN society at King’s email modelun@kucsc.com .
